Hubei Province (in simplified Chinese 湖北省) has several neighboring areas including the Hunan Province, Jiangxi Province, Anhui Province, Henan Province, Shaanxi Province as well as Chongqing Province. Hubei Province is located at the central part of China which is at the south of the “Mountains – the Huaihe River,” demarcation line. Therefore, the province has a sub-tropical monsoon climate.

Hubei Province is surrounded by mountains at three sides. The western part of it is the Dabashan area, and the north-eastern part of it is the Dabie Mountain area. The east part of this province is facing the Fau Shan hills while the south-central part of it is facing the Jianghan Plain. In fact, the Yangtze River runs across the province, and there are a lot of mountains and gaps of the River being located in the territory of Hubei Province.

At the eastern section of Dabashan, there was the Shennongjia which was protected by the surrounding mountains during the ancient ice age and therefore, a lot of plants and animals could survive there at that time and the remains of them contributed to the fossils which we could find nowadays. Therefore, this is one of the important sites in terms of archeology.

As mentioned above, Hubei Province had a sub-tropical monsoon climate. Therefore, you would be able to see four distinct seasons in this province and so you should be careful not to misjudge the seasons and bring the wrong clothing to this province when you are going to have a visit here.

In fact, Hubei Province has a lot of natural resources. For example, there are a lot of coal mines in this province and there are also a lot of productions of salts, bronze, and other elements or metals. Therefore, Hubei province is really quite prosperous and in recent years, more and more businessmen had decided to set up branches of their companies or even headquarters in order to facilitate their business operation.
